Toorji Ka Jhalra

Toorji Ka Jhalra is an age old public well. Rejuvenated after a long time, Build by the Maharaja Abhay Singh’s Queen in 1740s, it is a geometrical marvel with clean lines and fish-filled water. It is one of the few systems which highlight the water management system of the past. The steps of the well provide easy-water access all the year round flowing through the fluctuating water table. When the well was restored, it exposed carved treasures in Jodhpur’s famous rose-red sandstone which includes long gone niches housing deities lions and cow water-spouts of medieval time, dancing elephants and intricate artifices. The Clock Tower
