Kaylana Lake

Toorji Ka Jhalra

Toorji Ka Jhalra is an age old public well. Rejuvenated after a long time, Build by the Maharaja Abhay Singh’s Queen in 1740s, it is a geometrical marvel with clean lines and fish-filled water. It is one of the few systems which highlight the water management system of the past. The steps of the well provide easy-water access all the year round flowing through the fluctuating water table. When the well was restored, it exposed carved treasures in Jodhpur’s famous rose-red sandstone which includes long gone niches housing deities lions and cow water-spouts of medieval time, dancing elephants and intricate artifices. The exclusive shops, hotels, restaurants and cafes add to the modern side of the place.

The Clock Tower

The clock tower is a popular landmark in the old city. The vibrant Sardar Market is close to the tower, and narrow alleys lead from here to a bazaar selling vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, silver and handicrafts. It is a great place to ramble around at leisure.
